OUR IMPACT

We believe that every Jewish child deserves a rich and fulfilling educational journey; one that connects them to their Jewish heritage, values, and community. Through the BJE Jewish Journey, BJE students experience the joy of Chanukah donuts, the significance of Passover Seders and the excitement of camp friendships.

WE TEACH
We teach 1,297 students in 61 schools across NSW on a weekly basis, to be proud of their Jewish heritage and identity.

WE CONNECT
We connect 115 students in over 40 High Schools through the Nesiah Israel Program every year.

WE EMPOWER
We empower 32 educators with the skills and resources they need to deliver a broad range of inclusive Jewis
h Education Programs.

Your support is pivotal in helping us continue our Jewish Journey mission to teach, connect and empower the future generation of our Jewish community.

DID YOU KNOW?

BJE’s Jewish Journey provides inclusive Jewish education and social opportunities for NSW non-Jewish Day School students. As the only Jewish Department of Education accredited body to teach SRE within school hours, BJE offers engaging Jewish Scripture lessons across 61 schools. Hebrew and Enrichment Jewish Learning classes also run before and after school to enhance Jewish cultural understanding. In 2022, BJE launched Online Jewish Learning lessons for students outside our teacher’s physical reach.

This year, BJE is delighted to introduce the ShinShinim program, for the first time in Australia, in partnership with the ZFA and Jewish Agency, which brings Israeli graduates (Shnat Sherut) as emissaries to volunteer, teach and infuse Israeli culture into local events and experiences. Bringing these ShinShinim to Sydney will allow our community to build personal relationships with Israel.

BJE’s Jewish Journey is focused on integrating creative Experiential Educational activities into our new formal programs. BJE's Youth Engagement Team deliver creative, engaging programs to students of all ages.

The Year 10 Nesiah Israel Program will send 115 students on a 5-week journey to Israel. The new improved Natif Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program is an 8-week ‘Coming of Age’ program promoting Jewish values of gratitude, kindness and Tikkun Olam in an inclusive environment.

In collaboration with the Sydney Jewish Museum, BJE's Project Heritage Program offers an exclusive insight into family discovery for Year 6 students. Students and their parents tour the museum, hear the testimonies of living historians, and embark upon the journey of tracing their own family roots and explore their stories.
